Pinot Noir is grown mostly in the Côte de Nuits and the great Burgundies are made from a single grape variety. 3,000 hectares of the greatest “Grands Crus” vineyards are located in the Côte de Beaune so if you love Chardonnay we'll head south. We generally plan visits to at least one famous estate plus two artisanal family vineyards where you have the opportunity to compare the local winemakers: style, village, and terroir. Vineyard lunch or picnics are often an option in summer.     The three wineries we toured and / or did tastings were perfect for our level of experience with wine. Our driver was great and walked us into each location and waited for us, meeting us at the agreed upon time.

    Well, of course tasting Premier and Grand Cru’s all day was fantastic. But the guides at the 4 wineries shared many elements about Burgundy that were new to us. Finally, our driver, Jean Noel, was top shelf. He was engaging and very patient and helped create a perfect experience for us.
