4 Days 3 Nights Private Tour to Explore Giza and Cairo

Hossam was an incredible guide with an ease about him that I appreciated - extremely knowledgeable about ancient Egypt as well as down-to-earth street smart in Cairo. Reliable and had a great sense of humor, too! This was my dad’s bucket list trip so it was my Dad (70s), my Mom (60s), along with my sister (mid-30s), and me (early-30s). If there was anything else we were interested in, he was at the ready to book us and take care of all annoying bits like tickets, parking, etc etc. He really defined our trip and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again - in fact, I already told some friends about him who were interested in visiting Egypt!

We had four days in Cairo and Saqqara, our guide was Hossam. He was excellent. He was always prepared, gave us great insights and historical context for the sites and answered all of our questions. He also went out of his way to coordinate everything and was accommodating when we wanted to change or modify something. He made the point that this was our trip and his job is to make sure we enjoy it. We talked with him about going back to the bazaar but we did not like the constant haggling and ridiculously high prices, Hossam took us to a shop off the beaten track that had much lower prices with no haggling. We did have some issues with the tour company (not Hossam) and their lack of response. For example, it was difficult to get information on our pick up for our return flight. Hossam jumped in and helped get us an answer, he also told me to not worry, he would pick us up if need be, he said we would not be stranded. To me, that is an excellent example of a guide going above and beyond his scope to be sure our trip was memorable. I highly recommend Hossam.

We could depend on him completely for both informative tours of ancient sites, as well as flexible and expert attendance to our specific needs in terms of travel, logistics, and coordination. Our time with him included several pyramid sites, where he could advise on which would be crowded and exactly what to expect; museum tours with detailed historic context; advice on local shopping and individual excursions; as well as as-needed arrangements for affordable car services in the city.
