  • National Museum of Egyptian Civilization NEMC, Cairo, Egypt
    The permanent collection is divided into two separate regions, one chronological the other thematic. The chronological areas will be the following: Archaic, Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic, Medieval, Islamic, modern and contemporary. The thematic areas will be the following: Dawn of Civilization, The Nile, Writing, State and Society, Material Culture, Beliefs and Thinking and the Gallery of Royal Mummies. UNESCO provided technical help to the museum. The collections was taken from other Egyptian museums such as the Egyptian Museum, the Coptic Museum, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Manial Palace and Museum in Cairo, and the Royal Jewelry Museum in Alexandria. On 3 April 2021, the museum was officially opened, right before the moving of 22 mummies, including 18 kings and four queens, from the Egyptian Museum in an event termed the Pharaohs' Golden Parade.

We visited all the assigned places and enjoyed the sights. However, without lunch the trip was over in5.5 hrs. We were in 2 minds about visiting the oil factory but at the outset we felt we were under no obligation to buy. The presentation was fair, presenter a little diff to understand. In conclusion, we agreed to buy a 2oz bottle as we only have carry on ($40) but the saleswoman and our guide argued with us about fluid carryon requirements and strongly suggested we purchase a suitcase to carry oils home! It was a little aggressive and unnecessary and laughably ridiculous and spoiled the tone of the whole day.

This was a great tour of Old Cairo, The Hanging Church, the Mosques and the Civilization Museum. We received Confirmation of the booking right away, and they were there to pick us up promptly at the correct time. Guide was very knowledgeable and made our experience one to remember!

Great day trip! Prompt pickup with good communication, good English speaking guide and driver. Saw amazing Civilization Museum, Old Cairo , churches and Mosques highly recommend!
