The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, Cairo, Egypt This is another amazing all-day tour which starts with an Egyptoria Tours representative picking you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. The first stop on this Cairo day tour is the Egyptian Museum. A stunning museum inside and out which houses over 250,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years of history. They have a massive exhibit honoring King Tutankhamen including much of his gold and jewelry which was not discovered until the 1920s. 180 minutes
Cairo Citadel, Cairo, Egypt Stop number two is the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, which is located inside the Citadel of Salah El Din. You probably saw the mosque as you came into Cairo as it can be seen from almost any direction coming into the city. This mosque was built during the Ottoman Empire. 90 minutes
Khan Al-Khalili, Cairo, Egypt Then there will be lunch served at a local restaurant. After lunch, your Egyptoria guide will take you on a tour of Islamic Cairo. There you will be able to explore the Khan El Khalili, a bazaar that attracts both
tourists and locals. If you have not done any shopping yet, this is your chance. Talk to your Egyptoria about the do’s and don’ts in the art of “haggling”. 90 minutes
Coptic Cairo, Cairo, Egypt After exploring the Islamic areas of Cairo, you will move on to Coptic Cairo, where our tour ends. Some locations you will visit include some of the oldest Churches in Cairo. You will visit the Hanging Church, Saint Sergius and Saint Bacchus Coptic Orthodox Churches, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which is where baby Moses was found. The entire program is phenomenal if you have a great guide. My favorite was the visit to the Egypt museum. Though most of King Tutankhamum belongings have been moved to the New museum in Giza, which by the way will be the largest museum in the world once it is finished, the rest of the museum is beyond description.
My second favorite was the cavern church. One of the oldest churches, it was built on top of the cave where Mary, baby Jesus, and Joseph inhabited for three months right after leaving Israel. You get to see the cave. The feeling is unreal.
Now, these and the other places were made interesting and very attractive by our guide Musstaffa or Mufasa. He is a professional and more in all the sense of the word. Very knowledgeable, polite, respectful, and very helpful. My wife wasn't feeling good the first day so he arranged a SECOND visit to the cavern and hanging churches because that was very important for her to see. That should tell you all. His goal is to make sure you are very happy. He succeeded. So, do the arrangements with Tom and request Musstaffa.
