The Alabaster Mosque at the Citadel of Salah el-Din sits atop of limestone hill overlooking Cairo and is the most important mosque in the city. Still used as a place of worship today by the Muslims of Cairo, the architectural masterpiece opens its doors to visitors of all faiths. The lower part of the Mosque is clad inside and out with Alabaster, while the top part is constructed from the limestone cladding removed from the Pyramids of Giza. Inside the mosque, your guide will introduce you to the basic beliefs of Islam, including a translation of the most common prayers

  • Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan, Cairo, Egypt
    Continue to the Mosque and Madrassa (school) of Sultan Hassan. Built between 1356 and 1363, and is believed to be one of the finest examples of Mamluk architecture in Cairo. The mosque is also considered one of the largest, not only in Cairo but in the whole of Egypt, measuring some 492 feet (150 meters) long and 118 feet (36 meters) high. The highest minaret is 223 feet (68 meters) tall. This is a private tour allowing you to determine the amount of time you like to spend at each site during the tour.

Mr. Mamdouh was an amazing tour guide, he was professional, insightful, honest, tactful, very well spoken, knowledgeable and funny to say the least! He showed us the significance of the Islamic sites in Cairo. For all travelers debating on whether Egypt is safe, do not debate any longer. When you have a company like this one that serves you the points of interests you want to see, and you want to avoid even the slightest of hassles you are afraid of - then this company is your stop for it. The driver was professional and tenured. Our tour guide the same. You are in the hands of experts!! Their prices are commensurate with the market which are great from those traveling from the west. Now is the time to visit Egypt! Ms. Mona Hamdy was the agent that handled our booking, she made sure everything was coordinated before-hand from payment to desired start time, etc. I had a super easy experience. I would recommend using this company for all your Cairo tours whether its Islamic Cairo or Ancient Cairo. They got the knowledge. Our tour guide even took us to a very popular and historic tea shop for tea towards the end. Finally, they were patient with us and supportive when we wanted to do local shopping at a Papyrus store.
