Cairo Intl Airport, Cairo, Egypt
Cairo Tower, Cairo, Egypt Standing 614 feet (187 meters) tall on Gezira Island, the Cairo Tower (Burj al-Qahira) is one of Cairo’s most recognizable landmarks. Completed in 1961, with a striking lattice exterior designed to resemble a lotus flower, the tower is topped with a café, an observation deck, and a revolving restaurant. 30 minutes
Khan Al-Khalili, Cairo, Egypt Established in the 14th century, the Khan El-Khalili market in Cairo has always been an important district for cultural and economic activity. Here’s your guide to Khan El-Khalili and the surrounding area. 120 minutes
Liberation Square (Midan El-Tahreer), Cairo, Egypt Tahrir Square was the focal point of the 2011 Egyptian revolution against former president Hosni Mubarak. Over 50,000 protesters first occupied the square on 25 January, during which the area's wireless services were reported to be impaired. In the following days, Tahrir Square continued to be the primary destination for protests in Cairo.
Qasr El Nil Bridge, Cairo, Egypt The Qasr El Nil Bridge is a bridge that spans the River Nile connecting Tahrir Square to the Cairo opera complex. The span of the bridge is almost 2 km and an impressive feat of engineering. The aesthetic veer towards the functional more than anything else. It doesn't really look that great day or night.
The bridge offers views over the river, as well as landmark buildings such as three Cairo Tower. You'll likely from along the Nile corniche on the west bank
Cairo Opera House, Cairo, Egypt The opera house was inaugurated on 10 October 1988. The funds for the complex were a gift from the nation of Japan to Egypt as a result of President Hosni Mubarak's visit to Japan in April 1983. Construction began in May 1985 and lasted for three years

I was interested in the culture and history of Cairo and trusted guide as an Egyptologist to give me more information about places we stopped El Baron Palace, Muhammad Ali Palace which we walked to through the streets as people celebrated breaking fast in Ramadan. While I didn’t want to spend a lot of time at El Khalili market, we didn’t even do a drive by, a stop for coffee was not my suggestion. Due to Ramadan many places, museums and others closed early. I had wanted to go to Tahrir Square and walk around but it was left for last and too dark to even take a picture. Disappointing.

Mario is an incredible tour guide. He gave us a lovely tour of the Giza pyramids, giving us unique insights on the backstory of each pharaoh. We then went together for an amazing tour of the Old Cairo Sukh market, where he advised us the best restaurants, shops, and even helped us negotiate with all the local merchants to discover the best items and get the best prices. We also had an awesome visit of the Egyptian Museum, where Mario gave us all the details that are not written on the artifacts descriptions. To complement his knowledge, Mario organized all our cars and cabs, making it effortless to navigate busy Cairo. By the end of the weekend, Mario became a friend - his warmth and kind-heartedness are not easy to find. Hope to meet Mario again soon, and will definitely call him again for our next trip to Egypt!

The tour was arranged on short notice and yet the driver and the guide reported dot on time. Our guide, Mario, is highly knowledgeable about the history of Cairo and the various locations within the city. And even more importantly he was very patient in answering all queries we had. We look forward to going on a trip with him again.
