It was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Originally from the temple of the Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure rivaling the Soma and the Caesarean. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Friday so you can visit the roman theater instead

    Then you drive to visit the Catacombs which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock. Lunch at local restaurant in Alexandria,

    and then we proceed to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria then to Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Our Tour to Alexandria was outstanding. Our guide Mevrat was Fantastic and was very informative. We had Mevrat for all 4 of our tours. From the Pyramids, to the Museums and the Churches. I highly recommend Sun Pyramid Tours and will use them again when I return Ron C

Yesser was very helpful and very knowledgeable. We learned a great deal. It was not just telling us what we were looking at but actually explaining the history of Egypt and how the different cities and sites are connected. I would definitely recommend this and of the Egypt trips with this company and ask for Yesser. Abdsalam was our driver and was quick efficient and polite!
