Very do able in 2 hours or so. You do not get the "overwhelming" museum claustrophobia like many older museums. Surprising , not a lot of walking involved. Nice gift shop, however, only pay station was open and taking several currencies. Inspecting bills to make sure they were "new". This caused paying to be a extremely slow process, folks on large tours gave up in frustration. Very nice overview of 4,000 years plus. This is NOT the Egyptian Museum in downtown and soon to be located near pyramids.

Fue una visita impresionante. Nos gustó mucho este museo. Da unos detalles importantes sobre diferentes faraones. Naturalmente es muy poco en relación con el inmenso legado que hay.

Very impressive museum which was inaugurated in 2021 and where the mummies are kept. The museum refers to all Egyptian history but of course focuses on the ancient Egypt. You can see a lot of artefacts but the most impressive exhibits are the mummies who are kept on the basement of the museum. There is a gift shop as well. I believe that this museum is in top 5 must visit places in Cairo. Highly recommended.
