Pick up from hotel was perfect and punctual. We did not realise we would have to go to another location to queue and pick up wristbands for an hour. The instructions were not clear at all here. We also had to pay an additional 32usd which was unexpected as we had understood everything to be included in the original price stated here. Eventually, we were ready to depart and we first stopped at the buffet restaurant however as we had to wait for our slot, we had some time in the local shop. The food was fair. We then arrived at Chichen Itza where we had an hour long guided tour with Tomas who is very knowledgeable. Chichen Itza is a very interesting archaeological site and well worth a visit! However it is full of vendors even inside which was unexpected and they’re cheaper than many others. We had another hour to wander around ourselves (felt quite rushed, would’ve enjoyed more time) and then hurried back to the bus to head to the Cenote Saamal. We arrived and it wasn’t too busy. When we left the queue was extraordinarily long with other tour groups that arrived after us. The Cenote was beautiful.
Final stop was in Valladolid which again was a very short stop.
Returned to Cancun around 9pm with the bus dropping us all off at our respective hotels.
Our driver Cesar was excellent.
All in all it was a worthwhile experience but too much emphasis on selling.
