The first boat was beautiful; exactly what we wanted. Then it "broke" after just 20 minutes on the water. After sitting for about half an hour, we were instructed to board a "group" boat with about 50 people. After refusing, as we had paid for a private catamaran, another much smaller boat was brought out to pick us up. The second boat was much smaller, did not have nets and had no place for our family to lay out in the sun. The seating area was small and very uncomfortable.
The trip promised: "we head to Playa Norte, one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico with free time (1 hour and 45 minutes) to explore downtown". We were NEVER taken to that beach; we anchored several hundred meters from it and were allowed 20 minutes to swim. Then, on to lunch - which the captain said would be a 20-minute sail. Two hours later, we arrived at a deserted buffet and were rushed through our meal because we were so late and they wanted to close. At this point, the trip promised: "we go to an exclusive Beach Club where you will taste an exquisite buffet of regional food. Includes use of lounge chairs and showers. Continue enjoying the open bar. 2 hours". We actually arrived at 4:30pm and told we had 40 minutes. There was no time allowed for exploring or shopping - and the shopping near the meal was already closed up.
We witnessed one of the Captains snorting white powder off the crucifix he wore around his neck. When he realized he was seen, he held his finger up to his mouth and whispered "Shhh". The crew drank all but one serving of beer leaving none for those of us who did not want tequila sunrise; the only other drink they offered.
A young man on the boat was taking photos with a go-pro. When he tried to sell us the pictures for $2,500 pesos and we declined, he threw a tantrum and the Captain had to try and calm him down.
The entire trip was a bust and so very disappointing. We will NEVER book with or recommend Joluga Travel, and if you're looking - be warned.
