Zona Arqueologica de Coba, Coba, Quintana Roo, Mexico This ancient Mayan site is different from the other archaeological big sites in Yucatan. I was the only person on the tour that did not speak spanish, even though I signed up for an english tour. I missed all of the history because i was getting frustrated constantly asking for the guide to repeat it in english and they seemed frustrated that they needed to repeat it for me. I did go with a friend that spoke spanish but wasn't able to sit with them because the bus was too full.

The mayan ruins portion of the tour was the best as we learned so much and had an excellent tour guide Afren was how you said his name phonetically. However, the Cenote was a disappointment. The picture they show is NOT the cenote we went to. I was looking forward to a waterfall and being outside and that is NOT where we were taken. We had to descend many steps downward into a cave in order to swim in the cenote. The lunch was delicious and very special because it was locally made and served. We decided not to go to the Paradise Island because the Sargassum was very bad at the beach so we skipped that portion. Be prepared for VERY hot weather when going to the ruins along with bug spray!

Make sure you double check the itinerary before confirming the trip. Just because it’s listed on Viator under “what to expect”, doesn’t mean you should expect it. I booked this trip hoping to see one thing and when I got on the bus, they told me that it wasn’t part of the itinerary (even though it was listed as the first stop). I actually had planned my vacation around this tour - and never got to see what I wanted. I should have booked another.
We always double-check the availability with our local partners for each booking. Even though this is usually a swift process, it can take up to 24 hours. Once this process is completed you will receive your voucher or ticket by email. If our local partner is not able to confirm your booking we will offer you the best possible alternative. If the new date and/or time doesn’t fit your itinerary, we will reimburse the full amount paid.
