The tour begins at Centenario Park just at the walled city, where you'll be driven to Cartagena's main market, Bazurto. This 40-year-old market is an exotic maze filled with different characters, colors, and flavors. We'll pass through the Barrio Chino, the neighborhood adjacent to the market, where you'll meet locals and neighbors. You'll venture further into the market where you'll visit musicians, artists, enjoy various fruits, and the diversity of gastronomy. You'll visit mechanics with generations of experience, learn about traditional herbs, and finally, end up at Cecilia's restaurant, globally recognized for its appearance on Anthony Bourdain's show. There, you'll have various options for local lunch.

If you want a glimpse into how the locals live and where they shop and eat, book this tour. I had the tour all to myself and was immersed into the local culture as soon as I met my tour guide in Getsamani and we loaded the bus for the market. You will be guided every step of the way from learning about the history of how the Colombian people came to this country, you will visit a steel artisan who greets you with smiles, you will sample fresh fruits and have a fresh juice to cool off, get a custom graffiti poster by a passionate artist, dance to African music with a local DJ who becomes a friend, and eat the best rice dish you’ll have in Cartagena cooked by a local in her booth that was voted best by Bourdain himself. Worth a 3 hour visit if you have a few days and want to see a glimpse of local life.

Very nice experience. The guides were good and spent quality time with us. Orrica was amazing and her grasp of English was phenomenal.

Excellent and dedicated staff that went above and beyond when my friend and I had trouble locating them at the meetup spot, they searched for us for an hour! The experience was authentic and they offered us an immersive experience of the city. It was one of my trip highlights!
