Discover a side of Cartagena that few travelers get to experience with this immersive canoe adventure through the magical mangrove forests of La Boquilla. This eco-tour blends nature, culture, and community impact, giving you front-row access to the vibrant Afro-Colombian fishing village that has fought to preserve its traditions and ecosystem. Glide through natural mangrove tunnels, spot exotic birds and wildlife, and hear stories directly from the local fishermen who have become guardians of these waters.
More than a nature tour, this experience is an invitation to witness how community-led conservation efforts have revitalized the mangroves and the livelihoods of La Boquilla’s residents — all while you paddle gently through lush, winding channels.

Great English language guide spoke about the local community and mangrove ecosystem. Relaxing ride through mangroves. Hotel transfers + boat ride + coconut water drink= lasts less than 2 hours. It's surprisingly close to the walled city, but felt like a world away. Was much cooler than walled town, but bring water.

This tour was fine. We were schedule for 9am and 3 days before I received communication requesting we move our tour to 3pm. This isn't very professional or realistic. We had a flight out that night, so we agreed on a 2pm tour. Turned out this tour was more of a float - it was lovely for sure. But, essentially zero tour guide information and no information about fishing and the local people. It was a nice float and a nice hour, but not what was billed and frustrating to have the time changed on us.
We always double-check the availability with our local partners for each booking. Even though this is usually a swift process, it can take up to 24 hours. Once this process is completed you will receive your voucher or ticket by email. If our local partner is not able to confirm your booking we will offer you the best possible alternative. If the new date and/or time doesn’t fit your itinerary, we will reimburse the full amount paid.
