My guide, Ender, did an amazing job explaining the history around San Felipe fortress and how Cartagena came to be. Why it was such a prized port city, and how it managed to always bounce back from attacks stronger than last time. We also walked around the Old City as we explored why and how the Cartels shaped the growth and development of various neighborhoods, starting as far back as the peak Medellin/Cali era to the modern day.
