Cruise guest, tour on ship time, the guide meets you at the EXIT of Terminal 1, street side at the FSTV Port, we also pickup at the hotels, marine terminals. then its a one hour drive to the caves, at the National Park there are modern restroom facilities. Ready for swimming and hiking the guides provide you with a Helmet, jacket and lights. The walk continues for twenty minutes crossing the river three times, upon arrival at the caves, you are provided with a luxury tube with head-rest, mesh bottom seating and rope links making the float very easy as the guide navigates the tubes thru the cave system beneath the Maya mountains, the caves have many formations and a small waterfall and the guides provide geological and historical information as you float along, at the waterfall get out of the tubes and walk inside the Crystal Cave and see the Cystalized formations, then jump into the Aquarium fora swim, the float continues downstream.

tour on Ship Time, For Cruisers arriving at Belize City Port, FSTV, the tour starts One hour after the ship arrives in Port. the ship stays 4 miles offshore, the ship provides small boats that tender passengers ashore, the tickets are included in your cruise ticket, there is high demand to come ashore, so is best you request your tender ticket One hour prior to the ship arrival in Port, there is a line, it is not available the day before, once you get your tender ticket and the ship arrives in port, the tendering happens very quickly, arrive onshore , come thru Terminal ONE to the EXIT where street side you will see the V.i.V. crew. see you soon. after the first hour, the tenders slow down or stop and arriving after they start again means you've missed the tour. Come ashore early and check-in with V.i.V.
For guest on San Pedro Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker, come over to the mainland on the water taxi to participate on this tour. Shuttle cost not included, yes its available for participants from Hopkins, San Ignacio and Placencia, contact us to arrange. or reserve online, rent a car and meet us at the cave parking lot. The tub river was amazing! Mike went down the river with us all tied together. He was very informative about the caves and the history of the caves. At points the light came through the spectacular view of the rain forest. You walked to the river. The tubs were waiting for us there. You end up at the beginning. Refreshing dips in the river. These guides were amazing

To be honest it wasn’t the best experience. The person at the port was not wearing the correct color shirt indicated on our tickets. The van that we went in did not have working air conditioning and it was a boiler inside. The driver was driving erratically and the van blew a tire half way to the excursion where I was convinced we were gonna crash! and we sat on the side of the road for 45-50 min in the heat. Once we arrived at the destination I asked repeatedly if we would be late returning to the ship upon which they kept saying no we’ll be fine. They didn’t rush any of the other passengers because they were on a different ship than we were… we literally made it 5 min after our return to dock time and on the very last tender to our ship!! No time to shop at port as we were running to the carnival tender line. Every time I asked how much longer they just kept saying we’re fine, we’re fine… and completely flippant about my panic. The cave tour itself was interesting but the overall experience was not a good one for me and my daughters. With that said, the guides were nice up until the point I kept asking about time.
