Have you ever visited a Black Sand Beach? If not, this is your opportunity. This tour will take you to the Guatemalan Pacific Coast where Monterrico is one of the most famous beaches in the country. Take a boat ride through the 20 km-long Nature Reserve of coastal mangrove canals with avian and aquatic life. Later on, learn the artisanal fishing techniques with the locals, and if lucky you'll catch some fish for the community. You will relax by the sea while you have your lunch, enjoy the pool, and watch the breathtaking scenery. In the turtle egg spawning season we will take you to an animal sanctuary. There, they take care of the turtle eggs until they spawn. Each of us will adopt a small turtle and release it to the seashore so that it can continue on its way. Only during the egg spawning season. Without a doubt, this tour full of coastal activities is something you will never forget!

    Upon our arrival at Monterrico black sand beach, a boat awaits us. We will take a boat ride through the mangrove canal. During our boat ride, we`ll appreciate the beauty of nature, do birdwatching, and practice artisanal fishing. In the end, if we are in the turtle egg spawning season, we will release a baby turtle to the seashore.

I think this is a new tour & they need to work the kinks out to be worth the price. Some of the issues may have been with the guide they hired (Ruben) - external to their company because they needed the interpreter. First, the mangrove tour was outstanding - truly unique and amazing. That +lunch and the trip would have been worth $300. There was miscommunication btw the company & the guide re: lunch and they would have skipped all the rest if I hadn't pushed. He refused to even visit the turtles (it is in Jan and should have been babies, but even if not been good to see the sanctuary). Beach was only for a few minutes at my insistence, not the hours at the beach and hotel. Ok for me b/c I had dinner plans but fyi if you are thinking of it. Then they took pix of me to use for promo and said they would send to me but then gave me the wrong address. To be clear, the guide was nice, funny, and informative for the most part; issues were with communication w the tour company and forgetfulness. (asked my name 5x in addition to itinerary issues) Driver Carlos was great and helpful as possible. If you pay the full 580 USD make sure to keep an eye on itinerary.

Super! Nous avons eu comme guide Jennifer et conducteur Yvan! les meilleur! Nous avons commencer le tour avec une visite d'un cite de protection des tortus, iguanes et caliments. ( apporter votre chasse moustique!!) Pour 10Q, vous pouvez libérer les tortus (s"il y en a qui on éclos). Ensuite belle promenade en bateau dans les mangroves. Beau moment dans la nature. (apporter un chapeau et crème solaire! ) Notre conducteur de pirogue, José, nous a montré à pêcher avec un filet et ensuite a la ligne. L'étape suivante et un après-midi dans un Hotel sur le bort de la mer aux sable noir. Magnifique, mais les vagues sont extrêmement forte. Il y a la piscine pour ceux qui préfère. Bon dîner et super coucher de soleil. Je recommande cette activé, belle journée. Surtout si vous avez Jennifer comme guide!
