This is a good activity to do if you like coffee and are in Coatepec. It is located right outside of the town, about 8 minutes away.
They offer guided tours with an explanation about how coffee is grown, processed and commercialized.
At first, they show you a movie about Coffee, It is very interesting, however, I wished they had a bigger screen and that it was louder, because the museum sits right next to the highway, so every time a big truck goes by, it gets so noisy you can’t hear anything. And because of the coffee and sugar plantations in the area, those big trucks drive by constantly.
After the movie, they take you on the tour, where you go outside to see the coffee plants, then the grains, how they dry them, and toast them and the whole process.
Our guide was excellent and she answered all our questions. We learnt all about coffee. At the end of the tour, she offered everyone a coffee, which was delicious, even my kids got to try coffee with their Lechero version. It was awesome because my oldest actually liked it!
We really enjoyed the museum, drinking coffee and exploring around. Highly recommend it.
