Many tourists hesitate to go that far out of Marrakech, but this trip to the Atlas Mountains with our guide Ismail is absolutely worth it — and more.
The day started with a beautiful morning camel ride, a peaceful and fun experience that immediately set the tone. Then, we headed toward the mountains for a 90-minute hike that was much easier than expected, even for those not used to walking. Ismail made sure everyone felt at ease, adapting the pace and keeping the group together. Along the way, he guided us through hidden trails to stunning waterfalls — real gems most tourists would never find on their own.
We were then welcomed into his native village, where we shared a traditional tajine lunch with an incredible view over the valley. The atmosphere was authentic and serene, one of those rare travel moments that feel truly special.
Before heading back, we stopped to visit a women’s cooperative where we saw how argan oil is produced and tasted various local products — another unique and enriching experience.
Ismail was caring and attentive throughout the entire day. He checked on each of us, made sure we were enjoying ourselves, and shared his deep knowledge of the area with warmth and passion.
If you’re visiting Marrakech, don’t think twice — this tour is not just a scenic escape, but a real cultural journey into the heart of Morocco.
