For all those who haven’t got sufficient time in Morocco for a Sahara desert tour, all the way south then the Agafay desert is the best thing to do instead, the Agafay desert is not a Sand desert – but more sandstone and earthen plateau, traditional mud-built villages, dusty riverbeds are interspersed with spectacular sumptuous pasture and vegetation in springtime. There we can sample a tea with the locals.
The combination of these three valleys brings you into secluded fertile valleys where daily life of the indigenous Berber inhabitants moves with time honoured traditions. Immerse yourself for a day and discover the real Morocco as you travel through this ancient landscape with its many hidden treasures and incredible vistas.

Had a great camel ride in local dress in Agafay followed by mint tea & cake then had a delicious lunch in a Berber home in mountains
Then a trip to Ouzoud falls
On way home stopped at Argan oil women’s cooperative

Fabulous day out! Great value for money. Jamal picked us up from our hotel and then we went to pick up another couple, so a total of 8 on the tour. We saw various sights on the way as we headed into the Atlas Mountains , we had a short trek up to jamals grandmother's house where we sat on a roof top terrace with snow falling while we ate a chicken tagene. It was wonderful, we all loved the food, we then drove to the desert where we had a camel ride which was a lot of fun as we were all dressed up for the occation. Jamal was a great host and very funny. When I first booked the trip I don't think my 5 friends were very keen but it has been a highlight of our week away.

Gracias Ibrahim!!
