This was the very last day of our visit to Morocco and it is fair to say that we saved the best for last. Hamid, our guide, was helpful from our first inquiry til our return taxi trip from a perfect day in Imlil. The pricing is fair and definitely worth it. The transport Hamid set up was helpful and responsive (thanks Abdul). But the walk in the Atlas Mountains and our lunch took our breath away. The walk is definitely uphill, so feels like exercise (which I love), and travels along a small river to waterfalls and then up along a ridge line around the village at the top and a new path for the way down that had breathtaking views. What was an added delight is that there are small villages along the way and vendors selling local treasures but also juice, coffee, and light snacks. Our lunch was in the most wonderful Berber home and it felt like a true honor to eat a delicious homemade meal among the family. A special thank you for preparing vegetarian options for us (the best we’ve had). The town was vibrant and celebratory as it was the festival that ends Ramadan so I even feel like that made it extra joyful. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation!
