The Biodiversity of the Forests of the high areas of Costa Rica are unique with the specialty that most are endemic to these highlands of Central America. In this magical place you have the opportunity to observe the incredible Resplendent Quetzal in natural habitat as well as a great variety of Hummingbirds and native orchids that have epiphytic lives. We offer the possibility of taking the tour in a special electric cart for people with walking problems, with an extra cost of $60 that you can pay on the day of the tour in cash or card.

Roy is so knowledgeable and patient. We saw so many more birds than we ever would’ve thought. He also found a group of entertaining capuchin monkeys for us to watch, 2 coatis and evidence of wild pigs foraging nearby. We will definitely come back and choose Roy again!

Great tour with Roy, we were lucky to find several Quetzals, a Toucan and many other birds and mammals. He is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and you can see the joy he gets out of seeing them as much as we did. Fantastic guide

Albert was an excellent guide - passionate, alert, & thorough. He was patient, too (one of us - me - forgot ID so we got a later than expected start). I think he was one of the best available guides because he found the female Quetzal perched in an avocado tree; he suggested we wait for the male to appear on the scene. We waited about 10 minutes in that spot, and sure enough, here came the male Resplendent Quetzal sailing in to perch near his mate, his magnificent tail sailing along behind him. The other groups were alerted and all came to watch and behold. Albert was also really good at finding the birds with his scope, and taking photos for us all. My son loved how he also took the time to point out other things like mammals and flora. Thank you, Albert, for a great morning, our last in Monteverde.
