Chorro Rafting

I can't say enough great things about our rafting trip. Very friendly, enthusiastic and safety minded. All of the team: Jake, Jeudy, Josue, Romain and Kenith were awesome. It started with a discussion to determine our degree of experience and matched it up to the level of thrill appropriate for our group. When we arrived at the starting point Jake pointed out all the trees, flora and we tasted the different spices along the way. Before launching we were given a detailed and clear safety briefing. Just keep your hands in the boat and follow the instructions. It was a safe thrill. We took on rapids, got out and floated, jumped off a tall rock, saw spider monkeys and had a great lunch. I will be back.

I came into this rafting trip on the Chorro section absolutely terrified. I couldn’t sleep the night before. I had stomach pain, cold sweats—the whole deal. I was overwhelmed by fear and convinced I might not make it through the Class IV and V rapids. But thanks to the calm, professional, and skilled guides, I faced that fear head-on—and I’m so glad I did. The rapids were exhilarating, intense, and unforgettable. Big drops, tight channels, and pure adrenaline—but all with a sense of control and safety. I didn’t fall out of the boat (though one of our crew did, and he was completely fine—rescued quickly and with a laugh). What started as panic ended in pure fun. I’d absolutely do it again—not in spite of the fear, but because I faced it. This crew knows what they’re doing, and they made all the difference. To top it all off, we headed to Koky’s afterward for some insanely good smoked ribs, yucca, and smoked sweet plantains. The perfect end to a wild, unforgettable day in Costa Rica. If you’re on the fence—go for it. Trust the guides. Trust yourself. It might just be one of the best things you ever do.

Not only was the crew and guides the best we have ever experienced, the Chorro Rafting was out of this world. I have never experienced anything like this before in my life. Definitely takes you out of your comfort zone with the thrilling rapids but you feel safe all the way down the rapids due to the guides knowledge and training that they all have. Best time ever.
