Departure Point

More than a meeting point, Playa Espadilla Hotel will be the place where we develop our night tour. As we previously announced, you can meet us directly in the reception area, between 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

If driving, there is plenty of parking in front of the Morpho Beach Bar, simply drive 100 meters more from the hotel along Calle Bosque (gravel road) and park anywhere on your right-hand side.

If you coordinate in advance, we can provide round-trip transportation directly from your accommodation. Our included transportation applies to hotels, Airbnbs and rental villas in Quepos (downtown and Marina area) and primarily to all accommodations in the Manuel Antonio area.
Quepos pick-up time: 5:30 p.m - Manuel Antonio pick-up time: 5:45 pm.

NOTE: Normally our night tours take place until 8:00 p.m., depending on what we find along the way, the tour and return time may take place a little later. Please note that most restaurants stop serving meals between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. We will be happy to recommend a great local restaurant after the tour; If transportation is included, we can always offer you a return ride after dinner if you request it in advance.

    Your Herpetological adventure is designed to seriously explore the surroundings areas of Manuel Antonio National Park and Quepos with the intentions of finding every local species of reptiles and amphibians. We will spend the entire 3 hours researching at Playa Espadilla Hotel Private Nature Reserve for mostly Viper Snakes (Fer-de-Lance and Eye-Lash Pit Vipers), colorful Tree Frogs (Red-eyed Tree Frogs, Masked Tree Frogs, Gladiator Tree Frogs) or any other interesting herpetological species. We will provide rubber boots, professional snake hooks, powerful flashlights and bottled water for the hike.

  • It is mandatory to wear closed-toe shoes (tennis or hiking boots) to participate in the tour.
  • We do not recommend the night tour for children under 6 years old.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

AVOID this company at all costs. They called me 10 minutes before the start of the tour to tell me they had to cancel because I was the only person to book on the tour. I don’t care if I am the only person, you should be prepared to run the tour if someone spends good money on booking it. They then offered to take me out the following morning for a 2 hour tour. They never showed up! I waited at the agreed time for an hour, they didn’t reply to my texts or to my calls. Please avoid this company at all costs, they don’t care about solo travellers. I only had a couple of days in Manuel Antonio, and Manuel’s Tours wasted half my time here. Terrible.

Es war super, wir waren mit dem Guide alleine und er hat unsere Fragen individuell beantwortet bzw. uns Tiere gezeigt. Da wir gerne Schlangen sehen wolltem, haben wir immer wieder danach Ausschau gehalten, leider ohne Ergebnis. Schade, aber so ist das in der Natur. Eines der beeindruckendsten Dinge fand ich, dass man rund ums die Häuser so viel in der Nacht sehen kann, von Taranteln über Skorpione bis hin zu einem schlafenden Tukan. Der Guide hatte Schwarzlicht und ein Vergrößerungsgerät dabei, was ziemlich cool war. Alles in allem: empfehlenswert

The tour was amazing, we went with Frank and he was very knowledgeable and helpful! We saw (and heard) many types of frogs and even saw a fer de kance snake. An the very end of the tour we saw a red-eyed frog and a sloth! Absolutely best!
