Jason is a great guide. I spent two mornings with him. The first day we went to Curi-cancha reserve. He knows all the bird calls and was excellent at spotting them and putting the scope on them so I could have a good look. We saw about 50 species that day. He finished by circling back to a tree where he thought there would be something special and were rewarded with spectacular views of the Resplendent Quetzal. The second morning was a trip to San Luis Finca Ecologica where we saw even more species. Jason took the time to find birds and has a relaxed and easy-going manner. I highly recommend a tour with him.

We had a phenomenal birding tour with our guide, Jason, at the beautiful Curi-Cancha reserve in late February. He has impressive familiarity with the reserve and its wide array of species, able to identify bird calls and particular habitats to aid in the search. At the beginning of our tour, he heard a toucan call and followed it until we located two of them off normal trail. My 10-year old daughter was my companion for the tour and Jason had the perfect balance of leading us while also responding to our particular interests and pace. I loved the camaraderie among the various guides, enjoying the day and helping each other. We saw many different species and ended with a highlight of seeing various Resplendent Quetzals in the wild avocado tree. It was an authentic experience (not touristy) and a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Thank you, Jason!

Jason was a great guide, fully recommend him if you want to have a nice experience in Curi Cancha and want to see beautiful Costa Rican birds! You can feel on him that he loves & respects the nature and his enthusiasm is contagious :) He was really friendly with us, shared interesting facts not just about birds, but other inhabitants of the reserve. I think we were lucky to see every beautiful must-see bird with the help of him. This was one of the best experiences for us in Costa Rica, thank you!
