    This tour starts when you leave the port of call and get into the Panamerican Highway. You get to the road to Monteverde. The descendants of the original Quakers that came here in the 50’s, decided to protect their paradise from massive tourism by not paving the roads that access the region. In a country and area where the pouring rains turn dust into mud in a blink, this defense worked for many years.

    You will see why as you arrive to the Cloud Forest. The area where you have the first contact with this magical sort of rainforest has 6 bridges in total. As you come out of this enchanting and enchanted forest you will travel to a lower area in Monteverde to enjoy the fun, the learning and the discovery of coffee, chocolate and sugar. What comes next is Don Juan Coffee Tour. After you finish this great tour you will be taken for a delicious healthy lunch as a part of the tour and then, back to the pier with smiles in your heart and face.You will be taken back to the pier by 3pm.

We had a great time on this tour. Only one other couple on the tour with us. Juan, our guide, was super friendly, personable, funny, and knowledgeable. We saw lots of birds and a few monkeys on the hanging bridge hike. Delicious lunch provided at a restaurant with local cuisine. Coffee tour was very interesting and informative and the coffee tasting was great. We had a few spare minutes when we got back near our cruise ship, so Juan showed us around the town.

Had 12 hours in port so ample time to do this tour, booked months in advance. Arrived in good time but told we were waiting for another ship to come in, which was late . After hanging around for 2.5 hours then told we couldnt go as they couldnt guarantee to get us back on time. Watched as the other (late) passengers departed on the tour. Disappointed. A tour should NOT be booked with passengers from different ships with different arrival times. A refund does not get us back the lost time or compensate us for the disappointment.

Booked ahead of time for a cruise ship tour. Pablo was super-knowledgeable and was a non-stop source of information on the long drive from the cruise ship area to Monteverde. The park was amazing, although with the rain we didn't see any animals. The coffee tour was neat as well for those that don't know about the processes behind it.
