You will get the chance to visit a beautiful viewpoint that let you see 4 volcanoes: Volcán Arenal, Volcán Rincón de La Vieja, Volcán Tenorio y Volcán Miravalles. If the weather is nice you can also see part of the Guanacaste Province and the Arenal Lake.     The perfect combination of real hiking, waterfalls and horseback riding. This is a Trekking tour for adventurous people. You will walk from the top of a mountain down to a beautiful river full of 4 big waterfalls. You will cross some rustic bridges. If the weather is nice you can swim in the river and at the end of the trail you go up the hill by horseback riding for about 35 minutes.

This was an awesome experience that really encompassed what CR is all about! We enjoyed the self guided aspect of the walking portion, and the multiple waterfalls you can swim in. We finished the tour off with the horses and it was a blast. The guide followed us from behind, but let us control the speed and direction of the horses so they weren’t “holding our hands.” Only thing I would add is we were coming from Jaco area (2.5-3 hours away) and if you do, use a car with 4x4 and large tires to combat the mountains and gravel roads to get to the tour.

We really enjoyed our time here. You need to be fit to complete it with lots of steps (both up and down) as well as crossing streams and hanging bridges. The scenery is stunning, especially the sun shining through the waterfalls. Be prepared to get wet in places. We did the horse ride back and felt a bit uncomfortable doing so when I saw the route. It was mostly uphill and on a badly cobbled surface which felt cruel on the horses. On reflection I probably wouldn't have done this part had I known this.
