There is more active fauna at night, so this tour has a higher chance of seeing wildlife. It takes place in a transitional forest (warmer and slightly lower in elevation than “cloud forest”). It lasts about 2 hours and includes private guide, transportation and entrance fees. If you are looking for a fun activity for kids and adults alike, you will definitely enjoy a night tour. Many mammals, birds and insects behave differently at night, and there are always wonderful surprises in store, like sleeping birds, nocturnal mammals, and lots of interesting bugs. Your guide will lead you on a safe walk through well-kept trails. Night tours are so popular that a private tour is really the only way to go to avoid the crowds and have your guide's full attention. My sisters & I had a wonderful time with Marcos! We went on the night tour and the morning history tour. He was so friendly and accommodating to our interests. He spend extra time answering all our questions. Marcos is full of knowledge of the animal and plant species and history in Monte Verde area and Cloud Forest. He has an incredible eye to find what is out there. Also he shares some of his stories. I would highly recommend taking a tour with Marcos!

Really informed night tour! Marcus is passionate about nature! He waited patiently for rain to die down, before an informative tour which included 2 snakes, a sleeping hummingbird, 2 sleeping quetzals, a frog, 2 stick insects…He took pix with a tripod for us. He could answer all of our questions and was our best Costa Rica naturalist so far!

We had an amazing night Forest walk with Félix - he is extremely knowledgeable about the ecosystem of the cloud forest and has great skill at locating animals in the canopy and on the forest floor! We saw sleeping birds, including a hummingbird - how astonishing and were able to see a mother and baby sloth! Felix was charming, funny and patient. We learned so much from him and had a great time.
