Rainforest Waterfall Hike, Hanging Bridges, and Cultural Lunch in Local Home

I cannot say enough about this tour!!! Don’t hesitate, just DO IT! From start to finish, it was absolutely magical. Alberto was kind, gracious, and incredibly knowledgeable...the kind of guide who makes you feel completely safe, informed, and welcomed. He picked us up in a 4x4 and drove us deep into the mountains to the breathtaking co-op run by Mama Corona and Victor. Words truly can't capture the beauty we saw. A few folks in our group were nervous about the hanging bridges, but Alberto handled them with such care and patience that by the time they reached the first one, they were totally at ease. The landscape was lush and vibrant—rainbow eucalyptus trees, exotic plants, everywhere you looked. Unfortunately we only saw a little frog and a lizard - no other wildlife. None of us are in peak physical shape, but we were all able to handle the hikes just fine. The waterfalls were absolutely magnificent, and swimming beneath them in the natural pools was both refreshing and awe-inspiring. We took more photos on this tour than any other during our week in Costa Rica—it was just that beautiful. Mama Corona and Victor’s home is something special. After our hikes, some swimming, and a snack by one of the falls, we continued our journey to their home. There, we were greeted by Mama Corona herself and a gaggle of the cutest puppies you’ve ever seen. We sat down to an incredible home-cooked meal and even convinced Mama to let us buy a bottle of her homemade salsa to bring home (it’s amazing!). After lunch, we helped crush sugar cane with a traditional crank press and sipped the fresh juice. Victor then gave us a tour of his garden, which was unreal—a truly unforgettable experience. This was hands down the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. If you’re looking for natural beauty, cultural richness, and genuine hospitality, this is the tour for you. Pura Vida!

Absolute highlight of my trip. Cesar and Alberto were so amazing. The most friendly, personable tour guides i’ve had. The tour was absolutely beautiful and Cesar and Alberto made it even better. CAN NOT MISS if you’re coming to on vacation. The co-op was incredibly beautiful and 100% worth your time and money. Could not recommend it enough.

Alberto provided an amazing experience! From the moment he picked us up he provided the perfect Pura Vida vibe. H even stopped when we saw squirrel monkeys in the trees on Theodore road so we could get a better look. He shared Costa Rican culture and history information throughout the day. Our hike was beautiful. He pointed out plant life, wildlife and incredible views. The waterfall and mud treatment experience was exciting and relaxing. It was languid and luxurious as Alberto allowed for all the time we wanted. Lunch with Dona Luz was a delicious home cooked meal, also very relaxed and easily the best meal we had on our trip. Highly recommend! Luna Vida does adventuring in real Costa Rica!
