    This vast complex was the burial place of the ruling family and contained a prayer hall, a mosque and accomodation for the religious community and pilgrims. The main facade was decorated with white marble and the tomb of Temur is a masterpiece of art of this period. Dorus Saodat Complex dates from the same time as Ak-Saray. Construction works began in 1379.

    part of the remains of Temur's memorial ensemble of burials and religious buildings. The buildings were erected mainly during the reign of Ulugbek. This complex contains the graves of Temur's father Taragay and his spiritual tutor Sheikh Shamsaddin Kulyal.

    Timur’s chronicler Sherif Eddin Ali Yezdi reported that the world has not seen a similar building before the point of which extends from earth to the height of heaven. The palace was founded in the hours predicted by astrology. Its construction was begun in 1380 after Temur's conquest of Konye Urgench in Khorezm.

The drive was scenic, we made 2 stops with stunning views. We reached Shahrisabz and met the tour guide Fayrooza and her student Asal. She was wonderful, informative and genuinely passionate about the history and culture of her country. We learnt so much, she showed us the historical sites, bazaars and as we were fasting for Ramadan, she showed us how to make plov and other dishes instead of lunch. We had a lot of fun. Thank you for a great experience.

Good experience. Driver did not speak english but was hospitable. The tour of Sharisabz was pleasant and I was provided a thorough history of the city

My tour guide was very refreshing to be around and she possessed excellent knowledge of Shakhrisabz, where I got to learn about the history of Amir Temur. Afterwards we had some lovely shashlik at her sister's restaurant. It was so lovely to meet such hospitable, determined and inspiring people!
