FIELDS OF GOLD Mountain Biking Tour Chiang Mai

it's was amazing, very nice trip with the bike. The organisation was perfect with everything (good bike, water, sticky rice and at the end they give us a coconuts, yami). the guide was very nice, helpfull and allways smiles. at lunch we went to a restaurant to have lunch with nice Thai food thank you very much for this day.

This tour is run by Trailhead, which seems to be a very good outfit generally. Their own description captures the tour very well. Bikes were well maintained (not always the case). Although we took the tour in early March, and the fields were not golden, the rice had been planted and the fields were a vivid green. The route is interesting from the point of view of scenery and a challenging bike ride as well. Perhaps not challenging for hardened mountain bikers, but certainly for recreational cyclists. My husband and I are in our early-ish 70s and bike a lot at home, this was perfect for us. The tour guide was careful to make sure that the oldies were not having difficulties while letting the (one) younger one speed up. There were a few places off-track where the route downhill was too rutted for me to be comfortable, so I walked. Lunch was in a beautiful spot by water, typically Thai (pad thai, green curry, a not typical mushroom dish) and plentiful. I highly recommend if this kind of thing is your thing. I would certainly use Trailhead for all cycling tours.
