Very warm welcome by the guide. Good information about the history and philosophy of the owner Donatella Cinelli Colombini. Degustation of 3 wines and visiting of the wine cellars with plenty of information about wine making. Always a good recommendation! Bravo!

Visita consigliata da un amico sommelier che conosce personalmente la proprietaria, la signora Donatella. Ottimi vini ovviamente, guida comunque gentile e disponibile ma l'esperienza non corrispondeva pienamente alla descrizione sul sito. Non c'è stata infatti alcuna visita alla vigna e abbiamo scoperto sul posto che il "trekking" era a discrezione del visitatore. Iniziando però la visita alle 15 direttamente dalla cantina e dagli assaggi (a stomaco vuoto), all'uscita era comunque già tardi per la luce e freddo (essendo dicembre), quindi abbiamo dovuto rinunciare a questa parte. L'unico cibo presente erano comuni grissini imbustati collocati in un angolo (il sito citava pane, salsiccia, formaggio). L'impressione è stata di una visita organizzata in modo un po' poco curato, ridotta all'osso, nonostante, ripeto, l'ottima qualità del vino assaggiato (e comunque acquistato). Per 24 euro a testa, un po' tanto. Peccato, perché contavo molto sull'"esperienza".

Our visit to Casato Prime Donna was the first in our honeymoon wine tour of Chianti and set the tone for our incredible trip. The quality of the wine combined with Antonella's incredible knowledge, passion and warm welcome made for an incredible experience. This small vineyard, steeped in history with a rebellious edge was a true highlight for us. Our only regret is that we visited the Casato first and only bought one (beautiful) bottle - if we had visited at the end of the Brunello leg of our Montalcino visit we would have bought a lot more! I couldn't recommend the tour, the wine or Antonella's guide skills more fervently. If you want to discover an off-the-beaten track winery par excellence in Montalcino... look no further!
