Easy to locate due to informative hotel staff and big bus app. Bought through hotel app as offered discount; would say $35 per person still a bit steep for trip. Audio commentary was a few seconds behind location so missed areas mentioned … repeated areas driven (on opposite side of the road) which was boring more than twice we felt - Chicago may be small (compared to New York) but therefore reduce cost and expectations of paying visitors … not overly generous with inside seating so dress appropriately for changeable weather. Would I do this again, no … too expensive and commentary poor - sure Chicago has more information than this provided.

The hop on/hop off bus was an awesome experience to do for our first visit in Chicago! We had Candace for the vast majority of the tour who was hilarious and genuinely nice. We loved her!! The amount of stops was appropriate and it allowed you to see all of the highlights of Chicago including museums, restaurants, plazas/parks, Lake Michigan, etc. My only complaint is that the bus schedule runs only every 30 minutes. I have done these bus tours in other cities and they typically run every 15 to 20 min. It can be hard if you “just miss” one bus because it was a few minutes early and then the next bus is a few minutes behind and you end up waiting nearly 40 minutes. This is a very small complaint though and I would truly recommend this experience to ANYONE!!

We took the bus on a beautiful day and sat up top. It was a beautiful and relaxing way to see the city. The tour bus driver was giving the tour and while she was very nice and I don’t think meant any harm, was awful. She was rambling about things that weren’t important or meaningful and couldn’t remember the names of several people or places. She spent the majority of the tour talking about food. We were in front of the Field museum and she went on and on about a hot dog stand in front of the museum and the ingredients to a Chicago style hot dog and as an afterthought said that’s the Field museum with mummies and lions. The rest of the tour was about food, mostly junk, and some restaurants. She also said that part of the city was called “Jew town”, and then added a long time ago. I really don’t think she meant any harm, she just doesn’t know any better. But she shouldn’t be a tour guide.
