    Old Orhei (Orheiul Vechi) - the most interesting archaeological site housing the ruins of two cities (14th -16th century). Tatars settled here on their expansion to Western Europe. Continue with a visit to the well-maintained Orthodox Cave Monastery, which was expanded and modified inside the cliffs by monks over the centuries. Christian churches provide magnificent scenery through the windows of the monastery which still functions today

I had a wonderful day with Natalia - she picked me up from the city center and drove me personally out to Old Orhei. We had a nice talk along the way where I asked her about herself and about her life in Moldova and she told me more about the road we were traveling on and the surroundings, before we got to our destination. Once in Old Orhei, we visited the monastery and the new church and then I had a nice lunch in one of the village restaurants. This was a great way to get to see a preserved part of Moldovan life and be outdoors and away from the city. Highly recommend the tour and my guide, Natalia!

Beautiful experience with well informed guide, expert driver, amazing lunch. My thanks to Helena(sp?). Excellent way to see probably Moldova's #1 attraction in informative, respectful visit. Absolutely amazing lunch at Moldovan themed restaurant, great pick by guide.

UN LUGAR SAGRADO. Me he quedado sorprendido al conocer este lugar sagrado de la religion ortodoxa. SENCILLAMENTE es espectacular y la solemnidad de sus monjes en las cuevas rezando desde hace mas de un milenio initerrumpidamente me dejo perplejo. Su enclave es similar a los dexorados de Indiana Jones ya que es conocido lugar de steven spilbrg. SI VISITAS MOLDAVIA ES UNA VISITA QUE NO DEFRAUDA
