Besides the shore break, Sandy has several other popular bodysurfing and bodyboarding sites, Pipe Littles and Half Point in front of the comfort station, and one site for board surfing, Full Point, at the east end of the beach. Full Point breaks on the edge of an offshore reef.
Byodo-In Temple, Kaneohe, Hawaii, United States The Byodo-In Temple is located at the foot of the Ko'olau Mountains in Valley of the Temples Memorial Park. It was established on June 7, 1968, to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii. The Byodo-In Temple in O'ahu is a smaller-scale replica of the over 950-year-old Byodo-in Temple, a United Nations World Heritage Site in Uji, Japan. 30 minutes

Banzai Pipeline, Pupukea, Hawaii, United States One of the most famous surf spots on the North Shore, this beach is also known as the “Banzai Pipeline” for its barreling waves. During winter, massive swells break on shallow reef, making it a dangerous beach for only the best and bravest surfers (and a great place for watching some of the world’s top surfing). International contests such as the Triple Crown of Surfing and the Billabong Pipeline Masters are held here in winter months. During summer, the water is much calmer but you’ll still want to check in with the lifeguard for the latest conditions before going in.
Shark's Cove, Pupukea, Hawaii, United States One of the most famous snorkels and dive beaches on the North Shore. Sharks Cove has been rated by Scuba Diving Magazine as one of the “Top Twelve Shore Dives in the World”. Located on Oahu’s world-famous North Shore, this small rocky bay forms part of Pupukea Beach Park and boasts blue water and an impressive amount of sea life. The bottom is made up of large smooth boulders and coral heads forming small caves and ledges for marine life to hide.
Dole Plantation, Wahiawa, Hawaii, United States Historic Dole pineapple plantation was founded in 1901. Dole Plantation opened to the public as Hawaii’s “Pineapple Experience” in 1989. Today, Dole Plantation is one of Oahu’s most popular visitor attractions. Our driver was very helpful and very smart about history. It’s an all day thing and lots of riding in the bus. You make a few stops to see areas so it was a cool introduction to Hawaii. Just expect the entire day to be done and you to be ready for bed after.
