This was our 2nd visit to Dublin, so we decided to take a private tour with Eamonn. It was Awesome! We did bus tours the last time we were there. The bus tours were decent; I have no complaints, but Eamonn really took it to a whole different level. He showed up at the hotel to pick us up, right away he was very personable and a connection was formed between us. I mention that because without it, 12-13 hours with a stranger can be a very stressful thing! My daughters and my wife Catherine had nothing but great things to say about Eamonn when we returned to the hotel. If you knew my daughters, that alone would impress you:-)
During the ride to Galway Eamonn provided historical details, facts, fiction, fun, and music. He did take a couple of breaks to give us time to reflect:-)
Eamonn suggested we do Galway first because of the weather. It was a good call. My family loved Galway. In fact, if we go back again they suggest staying in Galway.
The ride to the Cliffs of Moher Eamonn continued to educate and entertain. We stopped for lunch in a small town/village, it was the best stew I've had in a very long time. Catherine doesn't really do stews, but I think she's going to start:-) We pretty much had the Cliffs to ourselves (there were just a few other people there at that time). The weather was great except the windchill dropped the temperature about 20 degrees, but visibility was unrestricted for miles!!! It was a truly unique experience, and if we go back we'll do it again!
I'm still working through the photos we took, but I'll add a few (which Eamonn took). My suggestion is you go and make your own memories. In case you are wondering Catherine's grand mother was Irish, and my daughters are 17% Irish. As for me, I do have Irish in my blood, but I really like Guinness:-)
Eamonn, you are awesome!
