The tour ... is wonderful. We loved the scenery and thanks to our guide we spent two days full of adventures. Riding down the river in a bolla was refreshing and exciting, riding horses and motorcycles on the trails is an exhilarating experience. We went to two indigenous villages where we met the mamos who are the spiritual leaders and two students from the indigenous school who taught us how chocolate is made. It tastes great!
Our guide told us a lot about nature, life as a farmer and how ecotourism is organized in the Sierra. We saw that they really care for the environment and work together with the indigenous and other farmers as equals. The guide shared his vision with us, he inspired us as much as the tour itself. We highly recommend it because it is done with heart and the project is very supportive of local people creating jobs with perspective even to the next generation.
A little tip: We recommend using mineral/ecological sunscreen and apply it at least half an hour before getting into the river because conventional sunscreens pollute the ecosystem.
