What a wonderful way to explore and learn about Barranquilla. It was a great combination of sightseeing, history and a lot of good local food! You will be visiting small kiosks and food stands; it is not fancy. The food is diverse and filling. I tried a local rice dish, shrimp cocktail , cheese , empanadas, frozen ice , fruit and coconut water to name a few of the treats. It was nonstop. I was able to experience the downtown area, the boardwalk and a nature preserve. There was plenty of time for photos. My guide, Andrés, was very punctual and organized. He was passionate about sharing his culture with me! He also took the time to make other recommendations to me regarding restaurants etc. Tips-Bring some extra water , cash, hand sanitizer wipes and a small backpack.
