The trip was a lot of fun and our guide Tony was amazing. He definitely made the trip. The coffee plantation was cool but the cocoa demonstration and lunch were even better. Tony was very passionate about his job and it shows. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

We had just done Tyrona the day before so we were still sore from the trails. We weren't expecting this much walking. This activity is not suitable for people who have disabilities or challenges walking. The trails were up or downhill for the most part.
The hotel pick-up was really appreciated. The tour began in their main shop in Minca, and from there we walked to a coffee farm. We were brought to a small demo area and shown the coffee process, machinery, fermentation and drying station. I only spotted 1 coffee tree. Would have been nice to see more to really experience the farm. We were then given a small amount of coffee to sample (the size of an espresso) - and that was it for coffee sampling. Then we were marketed some products from that farm. The information provided was sufficient and not too overwhelming, but we spent most of the time getting to/from that coffee farm and very little time at the farm enjoying the atmosphere and coffee. I was hoping we'd get to taste coffee at different stages of roasting or at least different types of coffee.
We then walked to the waterfall where we had a short 20-minute or so break. I was told I could get changed there, but there was nowhere to change as it was in the middle of the forest. I got changed behind a towel. So get prepared to either wear your bathing suit or change at the coffee farm. The waterfall break was very much appreciated. I would have liked spending more time there.
We then walked to our lunch spot, which took about an hour. We had lunch there (beautiful presentation, quite mediocre in taste) and were given some time to relax before the chocolate presentation. The setting is picturesque: an open wooden tree house overlooking mountains and the jungle. I could have easily spent several hours there, laying on their hammocks.
After the break, we were invited back to the lunch area where we listened to two presentations on biodiversity and the chocolate-making process. Both were very interesting. We got to taste the chocolate fruit as well as the beans at different stages of the process. We then participated in a brief chocolate-making activity where we ground chocolate and added some sugar and sesame seeds to it. It was a very small amount which we had to eat on the spot. I thought we would make enough to take back home. Then, once again, we were offered products for sale.
Overall, the value for what was offered made sense: the pick-up and drop-off, lunch, presentations and various little samples.
Total walking time was about 2.5 hours: 30 minutes to coffee farm, 30 minutes to waterfall, 1 hour to lunch, 20 minutes back.

Wouldn’t bother. Total chaos getting picked up and then on the way back driver wouldn’t drop us off where agreed because couldn’t be bothered. V unprofessional. We were getting picked up by Mototaxi and the Joe driver pretended to be helpful by calling out Moto driver bit really just gave them wrong info to suit him and that ended up costing us more to get to the hostel. If staying in Santa Marta maybe tour makes sense but not from bonda. Waterfall was tiny and the hike was just a quick walk. Lunch not served until we’ll past 2pm which was annoying for a 8am pick up
