What are the Petroglyphs (Petroglifos in spanish) They are alterations carved in the rock caused by wear with different objects giving shapes of different types: Zoomorphic, Anthropomorphic, Geometric and phytomorphic... They have come for thousands of years from different cultures settled throughout the territory. Támesis has the largest open museum in Colombia. It has more than 150 rocks with single or multiple petroglyphs. It is a Guided tour with a local Certified Tourist Guide. It begins in the house of culture visiting the Cartama Museum, where all the archaeological pieces that are from various cultures of the region are detailed. The tour is half an hour on this site. We continue by private vehicle to the first site, where we will find the first 2 petroglyphs. We continue towards another 3 paths where we will find several rocks with multiple petroglyphs, lasting 3 hours. REAL TOURISMO visits more rocks than any other tour company.

Támesis es un hermoso municipio, calmado y con paisajes bellísimos. Conocer los petroglifos es como estar conversando con nuestros ancestros. Sus formas son interesantes y los lugares donde se encuentran nos conectan con la naturaleza. Para mi significan un llamado para proteger la historia que alberga este gran territorio. Alex, servicial y muy atento. Recomendado!
