Nine Wine Wine this is a wine emergency! We will begin our tour on the Gianicolo Hill, with a glass of prosecco as tradition dictates. From there, I will take you to see breathtaking views, tell you about the wine traditions during the Roman Empire, and share how traditions have changed over the years — always with a full glass of wine in hand. We begin with a local white wine, then a rosé, and finally with an excellent red wine. Everything will be accompanied by traditional Roman food such as pizza with mortadella, supplì, and porchetta. Come with me to discover wine in Rome, you will not regret it! Remember that to participate in this experience you must be 18 years old. Rossana, with Rome Italy Explora, was early and waiting for us at our hotel to take us to our tour. We met up with Giuseppe De Spirito, our guide, and off we went to begin the Colesseum and Roman Forum private tour. Giuseppe was extremely knowledgeable and thorough with his history of both areas. He took his time to explain the details and offered unique insights regarding the architecture and archeological aspects of the ruins as well as answered our many questions. We never felt rushed or unimportant with him. It felt like we were on a pleasant stroll on a beautiful day with an old friend. The over three hour tour flew by and we felt totally enriched by our experience. A five star effort by all the team members at Rome Italy Explora!
