We did a guided tour of colosseum and the underground which was very expensive but if you go to the colosseum you would expect to want to see the underground but for that you had to pay extra! Security guards very strict one very unwavering,( one in our party had lost ticket after we had gone through serval check points and was to go through the last one to the underground and was not permitted to enter).
Be aware that if you have any mobility issues this tour may not be for you !
Also be warned you not allowed to take in backpacks and have many scanners and checks to get into colosseum.
Lots of walking narrow stairs ,you feel like you are hurled from one place to the next due to the amount of people and tour guides trying to get around so you don’t get a real opportunity to look take in what you are seeing and take pictures.
Very hot when we were there,no shelter from the blazing sun and NO water points which was disappointing. Even if you bring your own water bottles inside due to extreme heat that was finished in no time with no way on tour to refill so dehydrated was a huge problem for some of us in group.
It is very hard for small children I will say it’s a lot to take in and many found the heat and walking too much .
Lots of vendor's,people claiming to be tour guides outside beware,, very pushy and annoying.
Definitely something you need to see but remember take note of some of the points.

Roger was a fantastic guide. It was so very hot, but he made sure to try and find all the shady spots for when we needed to stop, and pointed out all the water locations. The tour was amazing - so much history to share, and Roger really connected with our group and shared additional information to the questions being asked.
