  • There are mandatory security checks al all entry points to the sites. The wait time time for the security check can be considerable during peak times/seasons and has nothing to do with the ticket line

    My family and I did the Colosseum with a guide named Humi. She did an amazing job with the tour and information but also making people feel like they were there back with the Romans. I have done quite a few tours and Humi was the best guide I have ever seen!!

    Let me first start off by saying that we have traveled the world and gone on many tours. There hasn’t been a single time where we haven’t walked away from a tour with a positive experience and gaining knowledge, insight, and history about the area that we were touring. This tour however, was the worst tour we have ever been on. First the pro- the tour guide seemed knowledgeable. The cons- We couldn't understand anything she was saying and she was not able to engage the group. We spent 3 hours chasing her because she had no regard to whether the members of the group were following her or not. She kept walking forward and never looked back.. At any given time she was missing half the group. We did not get to stop to take any pictures and really enjoy what we were seeing. I personally had to tell her to stop three times because half the group members were missing. To which her response was “ well I have half the group so they can’t say anything.” I am sure there are other tour companies that offer tours of the Colosseum. If your money, time and the experience is valuable to you, book elsewhere.

    We were really glad that we booked the Colosseum arena floor tour. It was definitely worth seeing the arena at that angle. We felt that we didn’t get many details while touring the Roman forum. Our tour guide was knowledgeable but somewhat rude to the others in our group. Guests in our group were not allowed in because the tickets provided to them switched their children and their tickets and the Colosseum wouldn’t let them in “because they didn’t pay for their adult ticket.” We thought that was horrible as they in fact did pay for their tickets. This was a bucket list tour and enjoyed the tour overall.
