Joined Chef Massimo for this exclusive cooking extravaganza and it was truly an extraordinary experience. We started with a tour of the local market, from where we sourced the products for our meal and during which Chef Massimo educated us on the key elements for selecting the best quality ingredients. We then proceeded to our “cooking school” which provided a stunning backdrop to create a sumptuous 6-course meal to include freshly made pasta and accompanying sauce, mussels, Sicilian Caponata fresh local fish, meatballs and my favourite- stuffed Zucchini flowers. Chef Massimo was hands on, ensuring everyone on the group felt at ease and also sharing ”tricks of the trade”as well as his personal stories with us. It felt rather like a good friend had invited us over to lunch and the atmosphere was jovial. I will be able to apply my knowledge and recreate these recipes at home here in the U.K. - fortunately I have easy access to renowned shop Eataly which in fact sells lemons on the vine (with leaves) and Zucchini flowers which aren’t easy to source. I would absolutely recommend anyone to join this course with Chef Massimo during their visit in Taormina - this memory will last a lifetime.
