We had a fantastic guided tour of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba with Maria, who made the experience both informative and enjoyable. Over the course of 90 minutes, she walked us through the rich and complex history of this iconic building, blending clear explanations with genuine enthusiasm. Maria was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the site to life with stories that gave real context to what we were seeing. From the mosque’s Islamic roots to its transformation into a cathedral, she helped us understand the cultural layers and architectural features in a way that felt accessible and engaging. She was also warm, welcoming, and happy to answer questions throughout. The pace was just right—plenty of detail without ever feeling rushed or overwhelming. Highly recommended if you want to properly appreciate one of Spain’s most remarkable landmarks.

When we first saw the mix of Moorish and Christian architecture throughout the building, it was very confusing. However, our brilliant guide Maria explained the history of the Mosque Cathedral and it all made sense. Maria deserves a mention as she is incredibly knowledgeable and explained the history in great detail and making it very interesting. A superb and unique building.

Thoroughly enjoyed our guided visit to this historic building. Our guide Saraya was informative and entertaining. It was fascinating to hear about the different expansions over time, and the different areas that were important as a mosque and then as a cathedral. Amazing to consider a building large enough to accommodate so many people in a place of worship.
