Booked a private lesson for my 14 year old daughter with Joshua. She had a fantastic time with lots of great instruction.

The setting was beautiful, the water was so warm, and our surf instructor was… a jerk. It would have totally ruined the whole experience but I told my kids to not let it get to them. He never smiled once, he yelled at me (mom) and my kids multiple times when we messed up our technique. We listened, we were polite, and we tried our hardest but he was a grump the entire time. I finally said, “are you bored? Because we can just try ourselves and you can hang on the beach.” I would leave a one star but my kids did learn to surf so I’m giving him/them two stars for instruction. Mind you, the other teacher was super cool, funny and relaxed. Unfortunately he ended up teaching a different group. There’s a couple more surf lesson companies up the beach a little and all those instructors were super fun and encouraging. I ended up chatting and laughing with them. Check them out before you do Hotel Diria.
