Our tour begins when our guide pick you up at the lobby of your Hotel and move to the northern part of the country, being unavoidable to make a brief stop in the famous town of Sarchi, internationally known for its laborious artisans who give Sarchi renown as the cradle of the Costa Rican Crafts. Following our trip we will pass through plantations of various agricultural products, ornamental plants, cattle farms, until we reach the town of La Fortuna to have lunch in a cozy restaurant just in front of the Volcano. This excellent location allows us from very early, to have the best view waiting for the Volcano to please the visitors.  We will rest in one of the best hot springs in the area, where you can optionally have the oportunity to have a massage or spa treatment booked in advance. To close with a gold pin, an excellent dinner will be served, always with the best view of the Arenal volcano to not miss a single opportunity to observe its possible explosions of incandescent lights. We liked our ride with Oscar the driver. He was telling about the area during our trip and answered all our questions. Also he made the additional sanitary and fruit stand stops per our requests. The ride was nice and smooth. We didn’t like Baldi because it was very crowded, expensive ($20 per drink) and the dinner buffet was terrible. Instead the lunch at the restaurant at La Fortuna before we got to Baldi was perfect. Try to choose a different resort when you are going to the Arenal area.

The tour guide made all the difference in this tour. It was foggy and rainy, the volcano was not seen, however, the guide made the tour memorable. We has a ripe plantain, yucca and chicharrones pizza for dinner, as recommended by tour guide. It was delicious!!!

El volcán y sus alrededores valen la pena de conocer. Ahora bien, la excursión de un día se hace muy desgastante y está sumamente mal organizada. Por empezar nos recogieron a las 7 de la mañana y no tuvimos ninguna parada para desayunar, ni nos la ofrecieron, y no comimos hasta la una de la tarde. Nos hicieron comer en quince minutos para llegar a la siguiente parada. Tampoco informaron que quienes íbamos en la excursión teníamos distintas actividades por lo tanto al llegar a las termas de Baldi me dejaron sola y tuve que esperar quince minutos en la entrada porque no tenían la reserva hecha. Luego, al ingresar no me querían dar las llaves del locker porque no estaba el guía. Finalmente, todo fue resuelto pero la organización no fue la mejor para el precio que se paga. Las comidas fueron buenas, tanto el almuerzo como la cena. Los guías también fueron muy cordiales. El clima nos acompañó mucho también. Las termas no son naturales, es un hotel cinco Estrellas lleno de gente en barras tomando alchol. Si bien son muy bonitas y relajantes no es un sitio para nada natural. Por tanto si lo que buscas es contacto con la naturaleza, está no es la excursión adecuada.
