    North of Rincon de la Vieja (the rain forest side) take jungle walk, visit an amazing blue river, take dips into Grand Waterfalls & view exotic plants and wildlife. Itinerary 8:00 am: Aprox pick-up from hotels in Liberia (to be confirmed) 10:00 am: Arrive for a welcome cocktail. Change clothing 10:30 am: Depart for a short drive and arrive at Grand Waterfalls for a dip in the pools. Set out on nature walk into the tropical rainforest, before coming upon the out-of-this-world blue river, Pénjamo. 12:30 pm: Return to Blue River Resort to enjoy a delightful lunch à la carte. 1:30 pm: Time for natural mud bath and sauna, Botanical gardens, Butterfly Gardens 2:15 pm: Soak and swim 3 natural mineral "green" hot springs pools and 2 fresh water pools with bullet water slide 4:00pm: Return in time for dinner. Reserve: at least a day in advance.

    When travelling to Rincon de la Vieja National Park's north (Caribbean side), the geography transforms into a lush rain forest with views of mountain ranges. We will pass by a windmill farm, blue rivers, locals on horseback and views of the smoking volcano crater in the park.

  • There is a possibility of cancellation or change due to weather conditions at the site in which case we'll inform you as soon as possible. A refund will be offerred but if this occurs on route or when on site, an alternative will be offerred.
  • A moderate amount of walking is involved (along paths created in forest and down dirt stairs)
  • The duration of transfers are approximate, the exact duration will depend on the time of day and traffic conditions. Pick-up time and location will be communicated once we know where you are staying.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Good place Good service bar Basic services and I'm talking about the bathroom... bad; appalling. 5:00 there is no water for the toilets. A shame actually. You can delete my comment but it's real.

This excursion from Dreams Las Mareas resort was awesome. The long drive (> 2hrs) was well worth it. Our guide Fernando was a wealth of knowledge along the way about the climate, biodiversity and culture all along the way with a few short stops of nterest. Our driver Rinaldo made enthusiastic team member for Fernando spotting wildlife from a distance. We had the advantage of using Fernando's telephoto lens for great pics. The dino park and rain forest hike was fun and interesting. Lunch was great, we had choices too. The beautiful Blue River walk was topped off with a dip at the waterfall. If you have a chance DO IT! Thank you Frenando and Rinaldo, you both are the best of COsta Rica. Pura Vida!

Hiking the rainforest and swimming in the waterfall was the highlight of our entire trip. It was absolutely breathtaking! The food was good as well. The mud baths made my skin so soft too which was an added bonus. Even the rain made the experience surreal as it was just a beautiful mist to experience the rain of the rain forest
