You will ride a Buggy through the Costa Rican Tropical forest, down roads, over rivers and through puddles (in the rainy season). You will see a wide range of livestock, wild animals like monkeys and many species of birds along the way.     Our Buggy Tour is a total adventure from start to finish! You will ride a Buggy through the Costa Rican Tropical forest, down roads, over rivers and through puddles (in the rainy season). You will see a wide range of livestock, wild animals like monkeys and many species of birds along the way. Jump into your utility terrain vehicle (UTV) and start your tour of Costa Rica’s Gold Coast. Ride on beaches and through forests in a comfortable vehicle that allows for the same type of off-road experience as an ATV but with the comforts of upright seating for a driver and a passenger. Your guide will help you spot animals like howler monkeys, iguanas, and tropical birds.

Viator list the name of the ATV business in very fine print. Ask this before you start tour. It is also not disclosed that this company holds $2,000 off your card. It is taken out of account and not refunded until much later. When we showed up at the address we did not know if we were at the correct place of business. The company did not have our reservation that we booked with Viator which made it even more confusing. The owner of the ATV business was not friendly. Once all was sorted and we started the tour, we had fun due to our tour guide. He was the best part of the adventure. If going during rainy season be sure to wear clothes and shoes to get muddy and wet.

We had an excellent time on the UTV tour w Able. Able was great, took us to beautiful Puerto Viejo Beach where we swam, Pirates Beach and a gorgeous scenic overlook. The UTVs were fun and comfortable. Able gave great info about the area and was very personable. Stopped when he saw some monkeys and pointed them out for all of us to see. It made for a really nice day. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get out and see more around Tamarindo.

I don’t like to give negative feedback on a trip but I feel this tour advertises something that didn’t seem to be on offer for us. We did this trip with our two teenage boys and even though the staff were friendly and helpful, this tour was not what we expected in any way at all. After reading the reviews, we thought this would be an exciting off-road experience with a chance to take in some beautiful scenery. We ended up following a guide who was up front on a quad bike and spent the majority of the time either on the main roads or passing through communities of families who understandably didn’t seem pleased to have us driving past their homes. We had 20 mins at the beach and then returned on the same route back without any interaction with the guide apart from being told how long we had at the beach. The link to the directions on the site were incorrect which resulted in us getting lost and being late. The staff were accommodating and let us still go later on in the day but overall a very expensive tour for riding mostly on the main roads. What a shame as this was a present for my husband’s birthday.
