Canyoning and Rafting with Organic Farm

Amazing guides. Pointed out wildlife through the day. Repelled down 3 walls, the second being down a waterfall. Bit of a hike to get back up but doable (20min). The rafting was great for a first time rafting experience. Had a couple breaks with water and fruit with lunch being at the end of the tour around 1ish. Pickup was 7am and back to the hostel by 3:15pm Best value to do the combined tour vs one of them on its own

We loved the tour guides from both of our activities! They were top notch! Canyoning was a lot of fun, but it is a little more on the adventure side, including an uphill hike and repelling through a waterfall. White Water Rafting was amazing! The rapids were not overly intimidating, and the guide was very fun and knowledgeable when giving us directions on when and how to paddle. We would highly recommend the combo tour and this company!

We had Kevin as our guide and he was phenomenal. He was so personable and educational about the area and the experience. He truly loves his job and is the ultimate professional. We started with a long and adventurous drive up and down steep hills in the back of a 4x4 to get to the gorge where we would do the canyoneering. It was just our family of 4 and 2 guides (I apologize for forgetting their names but they were excellent). Kevin took the pictures. We got geared up quickly and headed on a short hike to the top of a waterfall. We were given instructions on how to rappell very quickly but with matter of fact tone that helped to calm our nerves. From there, Kevin and one of the guides rappelled down in front of us to show us how. Then, the rest of the family went. First down the side of a waterfall, then right through the middle of a waterfall, and then another waterfall, finally we finished with a dry rappell where we were taught to jump and decend. It was scary, adventurous, and safe all at the same time. It was the highlight of our trip. We had done ziplining, whitewater rafting, and ATVing on many previous vacations but this was the first time rappelling and it was SOOO much fun. We finished with a long climb back up the mountain through mud due to the week of rain. It was fun and challenging for even those in great shape. This part of the excursion would limit this activity to only those in good shape knowing it was about a 1/4 mile through mud on a very steep road. Next, we drove back to the river head and joined a group of other rafters. We were given our own individual raft with Kevin as our guide. We had done rafting several times as a family so we were excited that we were alone and could connect as a family through this experience. The first half of the ride was filled with great 3/4 rapids. They were not huge but Kevin made sure to help us hit them in fun ways that made them a huge challenge and really got us wet. The second half of the ride were tamer rapids that were still fun, but we spent out time using our boat to monitor and save a few people that had gone tubing down this section of the river. One of the riders got off course several times and it called us into action to go save the tuber from getting caught on the river. Kevin directed us and we had a blast trying to navigate the current to provide help. This certainly slowed us down from enjoying the rapids for all we could, but the adrenaline of working together to provide help more than made up for anything we might have missed. The whole family enjoyed working with Kevin to have the best boat on the water. Overall, it was a great day and the highlight of our time in Fortuna. Do this activity and then stop by Rio Chollin at the end of the day for a nice time to relax after a good day of working out during the adventures. Thanks to Kevin and the entire CRD team.
