We are happy to pick you up from any hotel or rental home in the La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano area. Just pease provide us the exact Google Maps location upon booking your tour with us. If you are coming from San Jose or Guanacaste, please be sure to allow at least a three-hour drive time.

  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Great tour. Guides were very fun, and made sure safety was the top priority. The scenery was beautiful, and rapelling from such heights was exhilarating. Finished it up with a delicious lunch and swimming in the river right nest to their restaurant. Highly recommended this company and activity if you want adventure.

This was a wild and exciting day! We rappelled over (and into) waterfalls and rivers, hiked and jumped, challenged ourselves physically and mentally - while having fun and a lot of laughs with the always-professional Desafio team (including Arturo and Roy "El Gato"). They kept saying: "Welcome to our office!", and we felt welcome indeed.

My son and I did this canyoning tour and it was the best of our entire Costa Rican vacation. It is an adventure! It is a rush! You will get wet! I wasn't quite sure what canyoning was before this tour and now I can tell you that it is making your way from one end of a rainforest canyon to the other by any means necessary. For us that entailed hiking, rock scrambling, rappelling, zip-lining and even sliding down some rocks. We did four rappels- the final one being down the face of a 160 meter waterfall. Our guides were very professional and safety minded. they tailored the experience so that this 52 year old and the ten year old all had a fun, safe experience. Highlights were the "Costa Rican Shower" and the plunge into a small pool of fresh canyon water. Our guide, Kendall, was charming and knowledgable and took AMAZING photos for us. After the tour we were able to change into dry clothes and were taken to a lovely place by the river to have cosada, which was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend this experience! You will be challenged and you will be exhilarated!
