Ceviche & Empanadas Cooking Class

Taking the Ceviche & Empanadas cooking class with Chef Scott and his team was a blast! It was a pleasure to learn in his thoughtfully curated space — everyone in our group took away new lessons learned from this experience, regardless of our varying levels of cooking expertise that we came to the class with. As a bonus, we even spotted a toucan! Scott was super fun, informative, and incredibly patient with our class — he adapted so well to the young children that the other attending family brought along. All of the food and drink we consumed was so delicious! As soon as my husband and I returned home, we made Pico de Gallo & empanadas of our own. I definitely plan to make ceviche next!

This is a must do in La Fortuna. The space is breathtaking (we saw multiple toucans right in the trees around us) on a second story kitchen area. Scott is an amazing chef and instructor. We learned how to make Costa Rican mojitos, guacamole, ceviche, chicken empanadas. A special banana flambé for dessert- perfection. He also has a dog rescue on the property which made it even more fun. My husband even loved it and he doesn’t normally enjoy cooking! Thank you Scott!

This class was a blast! Chef Scott was very likable and knowledgable about cooking in general and Costa Rican food in particular. The empanadas we made were delicious and we had enough to take home for later! The setting was particularly gorgeous with the classes being above the restaurant in the jungle. Chef Scott also runs a dog rescue on site so we had plenty of furry friends to help out in the kitchen! I highly recommend this class if you are interesting in food and want to learn some basics about Central American food.
